Originally trained as a French teacher Chris started out as a course director for an international language school. She then moved into FMCG as an account manager and worked in partnership with a food company in Paris and a manufacturing company in the North of England. She concurrently acted as a Facilitator for Northern Foods Group Graduate Training Programme. She progressed into delivering strategic business support to SMEs -assisting companies in the manufacturing sector to identify new markets, build international partnerships and improve their efficiency processes. With a passion for creativity and innovation, a move to Scotland led to a deeper involvement in shaping and delivering innovation support to high growth companies across a range of sectors including spin-outs from the University base. Chris then joined Robert Gordon University as Business Manager for C4di (Centre for Design and Innovation) delivering a ‘Design- Thinking’ strategy for SMEs across Scotland Inspired by the Cox review of Creativity in Business, this fresh approach encouraged companies to change both their perspective and approach to the innovation of products and services by focussing on the end-user and co-creation to deliver ‘customer delight’.
